Apart from the purchase price of any type of property, we have to take account of the circumstance that the very fact of the purchase will entail a series of costs, which we will have to pay on many occasions. There will also be many others that the vendor has to pay, but it may be agreed that the purchaser will pay these by virtue of an agreement between the parties. In broad terms, we can divide the costs of a purchase into two groups, the purchase costs and the mortgage costs (when this is necessary).
